This charming, small, multi-story bookstore in Fremont is overflowing with a multitude of gently used books spanning across all genres. Upon entering, you are greeted by the kind, local staff who are helpful but not overly attentive. Turn to your right and descend down a narrow, spiral staircase into a room filled with floor-to-ceiling shelves crammed with books. Be sure to take a look at the clearance sections, where you could score books for $2 - $3 each. This magical place is cat-friendly, and a perfect place to snag your next reads.

Owned and operated by a lovely husband and wife team since 1979, this historic but homey bookstore is the perfect place to pass a quiet afternoon. Carolyn and John, the owners, will invite you in as if you’re entering their personal living room. Dim lamps on old armchairs and tall house plants scattered throughout the store keeps the ambience peaceful and inviting.

An independently-owned bookstore right next door to the Globe, Arundel is where you can find new and exciting reads while supporting a local small business. The perfect respite from a chaotic area of downtown Seattle, Arundel will provide you with an intellectual excuse to go through and discover new stories and authors.
