about me
When I was growing up, I lived in four states and six cities across the midwest and the west coast before attending a boarding high school and college on the east coast, and then eventually studying abroad in Paris. Through these experiences, I grew accustomed to being uncomfortable with being “the new kid” and experiencing new things, which later translated into a post-college life in New York City, and a healthy obsession with traveling.
This amalgamation of stories, places, and experiences is a result of all that. As I began to travel more, I found myself growing more interested in sharing my experiences with friends, family, and acquaintances in the form of food and other recommendations in places I had been to before. The joy I felt at being able to inspire others to travel more, take chances on new experiences, or introduce someone to their new favorite restaurant guided me into this passion side project of mine.
This blog also helped me maintain my sanity during quarantine, and kept my hopes up with fond memories of past trips and local experiences.
It’s been over eight years since I first moved to Manhattan, and I still love it. Five jobs and four apartments later, I also feel more seasoned and settled in my life. I work in performance marketing by day, and try to go to as many different restaurants, bars, museums etc. as possible by night and on the weekends.
Whether you live in New York City, are traveling to one of the places featured and need recommendations on where to eat and what to do, I hope you find some inspiration to do something that is truly meaningful and fulfilling for you outside of work. While that looks different for everyone, I hope that I can help you with a part of it.
