My Italian friend took me to this place, which quickly became his favorite pizza place in the city, so it’s been vetted thoroughly for authenticity and deliciousness. They have locations in East Village and Brooklyn Heights.

This cozy sourdough pizza restaurant in Williamsburg has good pizza and appetizers. They also serve natural wine, pastas, good desserts (like tiramisu), and fermented breads.

This place is worth the wait, although it can get really long. With plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, Paulie Gee’s has something for everyone. They also have locations in Baltimore, Chicago, and Columbus.

Although Gelso and Grand has more than just pizza, their pies are unique and delicious. My favorite was the four cheese with truffle oil, honey, and figs. One of the few actually good Italian places by Little Italy, Gelso and Grand offers modern Italian food with a twist.
